She specializes in the integration of Western Psychology and Eastern Philosophy. Her history of training involves being intensively trained in trauma and Certified in (DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy, by Behavioral Tech. This intensive training shows effective evidence-based research and treatment on improvement with social and global functioning for people with severe mood, personality, relationship, and adjustment disorders. Susie has written successful DBT programs and has lead many consultation teams. Susie’s latest work is on the integration of the 4 modules/ behavioral skills of DBT (mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness) with the model of Conscious Parenting. This combination of Susie’s eclectic work has come full circle,, as these trainings have organically allowed her movement to unify into one practice – helping to be proactive in treating communities! This starts directly with the parent/child relationship and connection. Susie has co-founded and co-developed a non for-profit Coconut Grove, FL Community School in 2015, called Skylar Mai Hebrew Montessori. The school is named in honor of her baby daughter, Skylar Mai, that she lost at just 9 months old. Skylar embodies consciousness as she illuminates the world with her light. As Susie has grasped the conscious parent movement, she has begun helping parents, schools, and all the caregivers in between, implement change with all her hard-earned wisdom. Susie teaches connection and empowerment as she radiates genuine warmth and love. Susie exemplifies vulnerability while facilitating groups, workshops and seminars. Susie is also highly involved in community functions and services. In addition to BCC, Susie is also a member of NASW.
